drifting

knots unravelled
the tether falls
listless on the shore
my boat drifts
on gentle waves
pulled by ocean's lure

Body

This sheath of flesh
and blood and bone
is it nothing but
spirit's ephemeral home?
Destined to be ashes
or in dust
be gone?
Or is it akin
to a beautiful vase
watering the soul
holding in place
spirit's experience
of pleasure and pain
traversing its path
on this mortal plane?
Is it not true
that every pore
that makes this body
holds in store
chronicles of journeys
undertaken and to come
sanctum sanctorum
enshrining within
glorious expression
of immortal being?

The Storm And The Leaf

The Storm And.....
=============

seeing
the vagrant leaf
on the wayside lie
the passing storm
bent on its ravaging path
lifts it to bosom
in wild embrace
overcome by a moment
of strange tenderness

....The Leaf
========

by the wayside I lay
and the passing storm
wrapped me in its arms
and hurtled me high
withered leaf that I am
destined to be dust
for few fleeting moments
I tasted heaven

Eternal

I know my hair
has gone so grey
your eyes are dim
our bodies frail
and yet I know
that you and I
have beaten death
not once or twice
but over and over
again and again
burnt to ashes
turned to dust
we have yet risen
we have yet loved
flowing with time's
make believe
ageless spirits
eternally tied

Memories2

Do roads remember
lanes recall
melded echoes
of footsteps gone by?
Do trees by the wayside
stoic though they stand
rooted in wisdom
of withered flowers
and fallen leaves
still sometimes yearn
beyond rhyme or reason
for woven cadences
of our voices shared?
I wonder
as I walk
on familiar pathways
alone.

Memories1

I watch
from my window
first summer rain
wash gently away
from dusty branches
memories of flowers
that had come and gone
with fickle spring

Aghori 3

unceasingly
I dance
to drumbeat
of the world
tied
to the puppeteer's strings
limbs flailing
exhausted
I dream
of wilderness within
I crave
the Aghori's call
